RESEARCH
We have significant results and are committed to exploring the ethnicities living in the Carpathian Basin and other groups.
INTERPRETATION
We interpret the cultural phenomena of folk tradition from the perspective of scholarship and art.
SYSTEMISATION
We collect, preserve, and systemise our heritage and the values of the past and the present in our folklore archive, applied folk art collection and specialised library.
MAKING ACCESSIBLE
As a cultural hub operating a network, we facilitate the public's interaction with traditional values in person and online.
MAKING REAL
Through our methodological inventory, we offer fun activities and the acquisition of skills while giving a valid response to social challenges.

ART
Thanks to the artistic and creative activity of the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble, we can stage dance performances and concerts endowed with state-of-the-art theatrical assets. Through the Collection of the Museum of Hungarian Applied Folk Art and various exhibitions, we display the masterpieces of traditional applied art, keeping in mind the most modern exhibition practices. We establish creative spaces while helping and inspiring the artists' activity.
SCHOLARSHIP
Through the creation and operation of our collections and databases and through various research projects, conferences, books, methodological publications, tenders, and academic forums, we are participants and stakeholders in the scholarly world focusing on folk traditions.
TRAINING
We convey knowledge in the areas of folk traditions and folklore, which transpire through multi-level training courses, further education courses, consultations and cultural education
QUALITY ASSURANCE
We fulfil our legal obligations by assessing folk art and applied folk artworks and giving our qualifications and awards.
COORDINATION
We operate a nationwide and Carpathian Basin-wide network to empower and connect communities working with folk traditions. We take part in the activities of national and international coordination bodies.
A COMPLEX COMMUNITY EXPERIENCE
We organise dance house events, festivals and activities for various age groups. As an open cultural space, we encourage the work of creative and active communities and the establishment of venues facilitating free popular education.
