As part of Gábor Mihályi's performance, the dancers and musicians of the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble provide a preview of the most beautiful and emblematic peasant dances and music of the Carpathian Basin. There are jumping and skill dances, as well as instrumental dances (pole, glass, handkerchief, etc.) from the southern regions of Lake Balaton, men's solo pole dances from Northeastern Hungary, rotating couples' and virtuoso men's dances from the Transylvanian Mezőség and Kalotaszeg (RO).
Founded in 1951, the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble's mission and commitment is to collect, preserve and transmit the folk art traditions of the Hungarian-speaking world as a national treasure. It preserves value and creates value, and operates in the duality of tradition and modernity. Since the establishment of the Hungarian Heritage House, the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble has been fulfilling its mission being part of it. Gábor Mihályi is the director of the ensemble and István Pál "Szalonna" is its artistic director.
