The performance commemorates the Ensemble's great founder, Miklós Rábai, who was born a hundred years ago.
We all tend to immortalise the spirit of our greats in statues, plaques, names of streets and squares, in keeping with the expectations of the times and the community. Our programme is not a monument, we do not carve marble or cast bronze, we only remember and celebrate, paying homage to the life's work of Miklós Rábai.
The works of Miklós Rábai take us back to the beginnings of folk dance on stage, to the legendary era in which this genre was created almost from scratch.
