The Young Master of Folk Arts Award was founded in 1972, and since 2001, the Hungarian Heritage House has been organizing its application-related activities. The Young Master of Folk Arts Award is a prize that can be given by the Minister of Culture and the Minister of Human Resources to folk artists and performers aged 15–35, for recognizing outstanding artistic or performing arts performance in certain folk arts branches.
The candidates nominated for the award reflect a high level of knowledge and professionalism. The strong competition, the high standard and the remarkable innovations are also evidenced by the fact that it was difficult for the committee to make proposals for the title.
In the Young Masters’ Masterpieces exhibition, the works proposed by the jury are presented.
