“The Méhkerék dance represents a transient period in the evolution of dancing in pairs, when it became acceptable to catch the ladies, but spreading across the hall was not yet allowed, and the formation of columns in pairs was requested. It is very exciting to dig deep into the dances of respective regions, as we may realize that some of them are images from earlier periods of dance history...It’s a hard and virtuosic dance, on the more difficult side. In the early days, the legendary dance house called the Kassák Klub featured two dances: the Szék and the Méhkerék.” (Ferenc Sebő)
