In accordance with the efforts of the Theatre Olympics the TÁNC-szín-TÉR Festival organized by the Hungarian Heritage House – Hungarian State Folk Ensemble features dance theatre performances that build on and are inspired by tradition, presenting a contemporary expression of traditional culture. The stage (szín tér) as theatre; the dance floor (tánc tér) as dance theatre; the TÁNC-szín-TÉR is the combination of all of these, which is a diverse expression of a contemporary theatre dominated by dance.
The festival crosses the borders of the Carpathian Basin, as the still-living folk tradition seeks new paths to reach its audiences worldwide. The four days of colourful dance cavalcade will feature performances by Hungarian, Spanish and Turkish ensembles hosted by the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble night after night.
Four evenings, four ensembles, four different worlds - leading in one direction: offering a guide to the modern man, showing the eternal validity of tradition.
